Software Developer

Aethera™ is currently seeking a motivated individual who enjoys a “hands-on” approach to software development and is interested in the continuous learning of relevant and emerging software technologies to fill the role of Software Developer.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Software Developer will work independently and directly interface with Aethera’s custom equipment and system design teams in all aspects of software development – from concept and implementation to testing, maintenance, and documentation. Following industry best practices, they will be responsible for Software and Application Development as well as the design of Graphical User Interfaces.

Your responsibilities will include:

• End to End development, implementation, and support of Software, Applications, and Graphical User Interfaces Enhance and maintain existing software to current development standards.
• Creation and updating of design documentation as it pertains to software
• Software testing and verification (including test documentation)
• Planning work, estimating effort, delivering on time and on budget
• Assist in troubleshooting problems at both the software and system levels.

Qualifications

As a new or recent graduate from a recognized program providing the required foundation to be a software developer, you are proficient in C++ and have experience with Python scripting language. You must be eligible to meet the requirements for industrial security and the Controlled Goods Program. Some additional qualifications which would be of benefit to you as a software developer at Aethera are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• New Graduate to 3 years of professional experience
• Experience working with one or more general-purpose programming languages
• Proficient in C++
• Experience with Python scripting language
• Exposure to or experience with industrial control and automation protocols would be of benefit.
• Proficiency in Linux would be of benefit.
• Experience with Cloud Service Providers would be of benefit.
• An understanding of modern software architectures, object-oriented design, and software design patterns would be of benefit.
• Familiarity with quality software development cycles and automated testing would be of benefit.
